Preferred the old removable ones and now my worries have been realised. I was never a big fan of the whole sealed batteries design. Next, unplug and use it normally to drain the battery. Charge it to 100, and then keep charging it for at least 2 more hours. Lift the battery from its edge nearest the logic board and remove it from the upper case. I bought this in Jan 2012, unfortunate timing just before the later models came out and now I'm pretty darned furious at these profiteering prices for such an apparently minor thing. When handling the battery, avoid squeezing or touching the six exposed lithium polymer cells. Please excuse me as I just fell off my chair. >Processor is Intel Core i5 2. Screen and keyboard are still in excellent shape. See photos for some scratches and minor cosmetic damage. NOTE: HARD DRIVE HAS BEEN REMOVED AND IS NOT INCLUDED. System crashed and hard drive could not be repaired. I just discovered that the cost of replacing the battery in my apparently 'vintage' MacBook Air 2011 ranges between a staggering £175 to a completely ludicrous £265!!
